Handstand Evolution with Mito Flying Monkey
14. März
A handstand is a very special pose. Quite challenging and not actually “practical”. Yet,literally turning the world upside down is fascinating and holds huge potential for learning and growth. In this workshop we will explore it from various perspectives while keeping it all playful: Anatomy and biomechanics, alignment, movement intelligence, body awareness and posture, all the way to fears and other emotional aspects. And of course, there is no sincere handstand workshop without drills for strength, mobility, coordination, proprioception and balance.
*Mito FlyingMonkey*
Mito is a German movement junky, who loves to geek out on tricks, progression, biomechanics, healing arts and the meaning of life. But the important stuff in life doesn’t happen in the mind, so more importantly he loves to play, explore, co-create and dive into a dance of movement. Since 2014 it is also part of his passion to share his insights and experience in Acroyoga, handstands and Thai-Yoga-Massage. He teaches workshops throughout Europe and on many festivals and conventions around the world, as well as several barefootyoga.me retreats every year. His strengths are precise instructions, on-the-spot cues and subtle progressions. He will only be happy after a workshop if people are left with a smile, a good feeling in their body and a lot of inspirations.
*INFO & REGISTRATION*
You don’t need a partner, but you can always come as couple or triple or quadriple, however you prefer.
All courses will be in German, if necessary we can switch to English!
Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a reusable water bottle and snacks if you like 🙂
The Art of Hand2Hand with Mito Flying Moneky
14. März
This workshop is also about inversions. But this time on top of another person! It is not necessary to be able to balance a free handstand for more than a few seconds to join this workshop. Actually just sticking the shape and letting the base take control makes longer holds more accesible then the solo handstand. We will go through various drills to calibrate the grip, find a good shape and stillness, as well as different ways to get in and out of it.

Thai Yoga Massage with Mito
14. März
In this form of massage practitioner and receiver dive into a dance of movements, acupressure, stretches and twists, as they sink into a meditative state of flow and sensing. Different from e.g. Swedish massage, it uses less muscular effort, but rather gravity and leverage. For that reason it is also not practiced on a table, but rather on a mat on the floor. Originally offered by the monks, it is also seen as a spiritual practice, allowing the practitioner to sink into a meditative state, making space to connect with intuition and sensing the needs of the receivers body.
Mito FlyingMonkey has studied Thai-Yoga-Massage with Ishine Gape, Krishna Takis, David Lutt, Markus Ras, and many more.
He has studied with traditional Thaimassage foundation course in the Sunshine School in northern Thailand (Chiang Mai / Lahu Village) twice (with Kalin and Andi), as well as an advanced course on “Body assessment, treatment and rebalancing” with Mike Tan. He has studied Chi Nei Tsang (abdominal massage) with Remco van de Visch and Integrated Cranial Biodynamics with Rosemary Wallace.
